A woman emailed me the other day, “I absolutely love my life, Erin. I am happily married, I’ve got a good income, I’m close to retirement, my kids are doing great. To be honest, this is the best life ever. So I’m really worried about reincarnation. What if I come back into a country where they don’t enjoy the freedoms I have in America? Can that happen? Could I be reincarnated into North Korea or China or something? I don’t think I would enjoy living there and I would hate to think it could happen. What can you tell me?”
It’s a really good question, isn’t it? There are a LOT of people on this planet living in places or conditions that aren’t ideal. Some of them are downright tortuous.
Can you control whether you are reborn?
Yes, you are the one who decides if you will reincarnate. No one is going to force you to come back.
To that, I can hear many of you saying, “Great, I’m never coming back to this hell hole. Who in their right mind would come back here?”
In response I will direct you to my article, Your Higher Self Isn’t Afraid to Suffer. In this article you will see that there are great reasons people choose to come back and people will often choose difficult circumstances to challenge themselves.
Can you control where you are reborn?
Yes, you will choose your parents based on the intentions you create for your next life. You may decide consciously to be born in a country in which your current self would be afraid to live. It could happen.
So is there anything you can do about it?
Do what you can to make the world a better place for everyone, because one day you could be anyone.
If there are places or conditions under which you are afraid to incarnate, see what you can do to help change it. Inch your way there.
- Send resources or money to someone living in a scary place
- Help build better infrastructures in those places
- Become a lawyer, diplomat or advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves
- Join the military
- Become a film maker and document what it happening for the world to see
- Support local people trying to make a difference in their countries from the inside
- Bring awareness via social media
- Help a refugee
The life you save could someday be your own.
Look past the life you’re in right now and see how you might make things better for yourself and everyone else the next go-around. Mile by mile, it’s a trial, but inch by inch it’s a cinch.
You have the power to make a difference. One candle can light thousands.
It may take many decades for our world to finally be at peace and for all our citizens to enjoy freedom. It’s a worthwhile goal, though. And someday you may wish you had done something now.
